Apex first became involved in the dance music scene when he attended his first rave in 1994.

Two years later he finally managed to buy his first set of turntables. He started off playing drum and bass, quickly becoming a proficient scratch DJ. He became a resident at Depth Charge in Oxford where he played along big names in the drum and bass industry such as Kenny Ken, Brockie and Shy FX. He also had a weekly show on "Rude on the Net".

After spending a while travelling and repeatedly finding himself drawn to psytrance parties he decided that was the music he really wanted to DJ.

Since then he has energised dance floors at parties and festivals such as Hadra, Soulclipse, Aurora, Alien Safari, Prism, Burning Man, 303 Art Festival and many others.  He has made appearances in America, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, England, France, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Morocco, Norway, South Africa, Switzerland, Tunisia, Thailand and Turkey.

In 2008, he released a compilation on Peak Records called Peak-a-doodle-doo including two collaborations of his own, Cycle Derek with Ajja and Robot Revolution with Aphid Moon. In 2009, two more of his collaborations on the Peak compilation, Epeakurean, compiled by Gaspard, with Rev and Yab-Yum. Currently he is in the process of compiling the next compilation for Peak.
